Amelia’s In Home Newborn Session

When we are in the thick of it, times seems warped. The days can be so long but the years go by so fast. It’s a roller coaster of emotions. Before we know it, we are looking back wishing we could go back in time to hold our baby while they are still little just one more time.

If I’ve learned anything over this pandemic, it’s that life is short and we aren’t promised tomorrow. And even though you may be in the thick of it, there’s so many beautiful incredible memories along the way. Our children won’t look back and see the sleepless nights or count how many hours you let them watch TV because you simply were trying to survive. They won’t remember the quick thrown together chicken nugget dinners. But they will remember you, mama. They will remember your smile, your contagious laugh, how cozy and safe your hugs made them feel. How you always took time to read them their favourite story.

They will remember you…

There’s something special about in home sessions, being in your own home, being able to document special details you may have never captured otherwise. Like the nursery you worked so hard on. Or that baby blanket you knit by hand. Maybe it’s the spot in the house you spend most of your days cuddling and nursing your baby. The details that will make it into stories you tell your little ones when they get older.

Your home is where your heart is. There’s so many beautiful benefits to having an in home session:

  • Minimize your stress by not having to pack up the kids and travel to your session

  • Have everything you need for your littles with you right at home

  • It’s a familiar, safe space for your little ones

  • It’s more ideal and more comfortable for mamas recovering from cesarean birth

  • It can be done anytime, even months after baby is born

  • There’s no rush

  • You can let your kids be kids

The end result is having beautiful memories captured in time. They are no longer details in a story but moments and memories to share with your family and friends. Moments you will cherish forever. Recovering from birth and postpartum doesn’t have to hinder you from documenting those special moments with your family. Motherhood is a beautiful transformation of self. Don’t forget to document your journey.
